Dr. Tara Pratt graduated from Palmer College in June of 2005 after attending Loras College with studies in Sports Science and Athletic Training. Dr. Pratt also graduated from the Institute of Therapeutic Massage in 1999. She offers a variety of Chiropractic practices include drop-table (Thompson), manual (Diversified and Gonstead), low force (Logan Basic and instrument adjusting), and manual therapies. Dr. Pratt received her Certification in Chiropractic Acupuncture and has certified training in Nutrition Response Testing.
Dr. Joe graduated from Palmer College in 2014, after obtaining his Bachelors of Science from Winona State University. His philosophy is whole body chiropractic from the spine to extremities, and he employs a variety of techniques to accomplish clinical goals. These techniques include low force (Logan Basic and instrument adjusting), drop-table (Thompson), manual (Diversified and Gonstead), and physiotherapy. Dr. Joe received his Certification in Chiropractic Acupuncture in 2016, and has incorporated acupuncture and cupping into his assortment of treatment options.
Dr. Sue Larkin joined NHIC in July 2017. Prior to joining our clinic, she was a Professor at Palmer College of Chiropractic as a faculty clinician in the clinic system. When Dr. Tara and Dr. Joe were students they were assigned to Dr. Larkin for their clinical experiences. Prior to graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic, she had received a nursing degree from Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa. She has been quoted as saying ”whatever technique is best for the patient is the technique to be used.”
Dr. Pamela Hahn is a 2000 graduate of Palmer Davenport. She is board certified in Atlas Orthongal and Advanced rated Activator methods with additional training in cranial, TMJ/TMD and extremity work. She served a year of internships immediately following graduation with Dr. Roy Sweat, Drs. Humber and Kirk and Dr. Scott Rosa. Her hobbies include running half marathons, lifting weights, hot yoga and watching my son play dek hockey.
Marlece graduated from The Institute of Massage Therapy in 1997 and has been practicing since. She has been working with Dr. Tara Pratt at the NHIC for over 12 years. She is specialized in basic Swedish Massage and has taken a variety of classes including, but not limited to, trigger point, oncology, lymph drainage, and pregnancy massage.
Maupenei, or as many of us call her, Penei, graduated from Capri College in Davenport, IA in 1995. She was born in New Zealand and her parents are from Samoa. Penei joined Dr. Tara Pratt at the NHIC in July of 2014. Penei is skilled in Raindrop Therapy Technique, which uses essential oils and specific massage techniques, to aide in the healing and repair of the body.
Leah graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Blackhawk College in 2011 with a certification in Massage Therapy and Bodywork. She has been with the NHIC since July 2014. She will listen to what your massage needs are and work to accommodate your body’s ever changing demands. Whether you need deep tissue work, injury specific work, or just time to relax, she guarantees you a therapeutic experience every time she works with you.
Justin has been in practice for 6 years as a trainer and 3 years with massage therapy in his regimen. His focus in treatment is to reset and restore the patterns of your body that are causing pain, distortion, and dysfunction. Together, you will implement strategies to re-pattern the systems of your body to correct your posture, prevent injury, and help you to exist in a more optimal state. He utilizes massage therapy techniques such as neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and structural integration.
Amy is a member of the Reflexology Association of America (RAA) and the Reflexology Association of Iowa (RAIA). With over 650 hours of training she is a nationally certified instructor for Integrative Reflexology and has been practicing in the Quad City area for over 18 years. She specializes in complimentary reflexology care for early onset neuropathy brought on by surgery, chemotherapy, or personal conditions, as well as plantar fasciitis originating from a variety of reasons. Stress reduction and relaxation are also included in her general therapy.
Nikki has been a certified practitioner of Reiki since 2000 and has been teaching since 2004. Reiki is a relaxation therapy that uses touch to activate the natural healing process of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being. Nikki has honed her Reiki techniques through the International Center for Reiki Training. Nikki currently offers the following classes at NHIC: Usui Holy Fire Reiki, Karuna Holy Fire Reiki, and Reiki sessions with crystals.
Sara graduated from Mayville State University with her Bachelors in Business Marketing and Administration. She moved from Wahpeton, North Dakota to the Quad Cities with her husband, whom is attending Palmer College of Chiropractic. Sara joined NHIC in February 2017 as Dr. Tara Pratt's Chiropractic Assistant and has since taken on Dr. Joseph Woelfel's billing and duties as Office Manager.
Kira is currently working on her Associates Degree at Scott Community College via their online program. After graduating in winter of 2019, she plans to go on to obtain her Bachelors Degree in Human Resources. Kira joined NHIC in February of 2019.
